Here we will review how to fax out a prescription created under the PRO UI.
To become familiar with the requirements for faxing a prescription, you can watch this short video: Fax or Print Rx
In order to fax a prescription from the EMR, a fax service needs to be integrated. SRFax and Ring Central are compatible third party applications that can be fully integrated into the system to allow for electronic faxing. Please contact Support for details if interested.
In addition to having a fax service, there must be a Preferred Pharmacy set that contains a fax number, and finally a signature must be included on the prescription.
Preferred Pharmacy:
The pharmacy list for the patient is managed along the top under Manage Pharmacy:
A new preferred pharmacy can be assigned to a patient under the Manage Pharmacy tab.
For patients that already have pharmacies assigned to them, a different one can be selected from the Preferred Pharmacy drop down.

Create Prescription:
A prescription would need to be created, either by making a new one or ReRx.
If you're creating a new prescription the medication would need to be searched from the drug database under the Drug Name search box:
The dosage instructions can be entered:

If you're ReRx a medication, the button can be clicked beside the medication, or you can mark off multiple drugs and use the Apply To Selected option:

Once the prescription is done, the Save & Print button needs to be clicked to load the print preview window:
Signature:
On the print preview window, before faxing/printing a signature image needs to be added to the prescription. This can be done a couple of ways, such as having a set Signature Stamp auto-populate from your Preferences:
A new wet signature can be drawn in the Actions box:
Lastly, a saved signature image can be selected from the Favorites drop down available in the Actions box, as seen above.
Once a pharmacy and a signature is assigned to the prescription, the Print and Fax buttons will become active:
