In order to fax prescriptions you must set a “Preferred Pharmacy” on the patients Rx page.
Note that preferred pharmacies are set per patients Rx profile, as it is understood that patients may opt to provide a pharmacy that they prefer to pick up their Rx from.
Click on “Manage Pharmacy” to open the pharmacy library and to add a new pharmacy record to the library select “ADD PHARMACY” located at the bottom of the page:
Then fill out the information for the pharmacy in the pop-up window.
After creating the pharmacy record, you’ll then need to select the star symbol at the very left of the pharmacy record to add it as the patients preferred pharmacy. You may add multiple preferred pharmacies here.
The preferred pharmacy(s) should appear at the top of the page.
When you go back to the main Rx page you’ll find that the preferred pharmacy dropdown will contain all the pharmacies that you’ve set preferred for the patient's record.
Please be aware that the Star will manage the pharmacy for the patient, and the pencil and trash can under Actions will manage the pharmacy for the EMR:
