WELLcome!
We are excited to help you during this next chapter of your journey with the OSCAR PRO EMR.
In this article you will find helpful tips and tricks that can make your initial set-up and login smooth.
What browser should I use?
We recommend Chrome.
If you do not have Chrome as a browser, here is a link where it can be downloaded Chrome Download
We would also recommend that you disable any browser settings that will auto save your passwords when logging into OSCAR PRO.
The Chrome browser settings can be located by the 3 vertical dots in the top right corner of the browser window. There you can see the Passwords and autofill option, alternately if you scroll to bottom of the menu tab, you will find option to open full Settings.
You have your URL --- Now What?!
It would be best to Bookmark it! This will allow for easy access everyday. The Bookmark should be set from the login page, BEFORE you login. This can be done with a keyboard command Ctrl + D.
Here is one version of the login page:
Here is another version of the login page:
First Login --- What can I expect?
On your first login attempt you’ll be prompted to reset your password. When resetting the password, please keep in mind that it must be at least 8 characters long, contain both upper case and lower case letters, as well as a number (1,2,3) and a symbol (&,%,$,#).
PRO and Classic Views --- What does that mean?
After resetting your password, and successfully logging in, you’ll then be greeted with this message:
The shield icon in the very top left corner of the schedule, allows a provider to switch between a Classic Interface and the PRO Interface.
Please note, for Ontario there are 3 windows to toggle between (Inbox, Billing and Prescriptions). For British Columbia, there are only the 2 (Inbox and Prescriptions).
You may click on the “Got it!” button to dismiss the interface notification.
By clicking the shield icon now, you can see that the default is for the PRO Interface to be selected with the toggles all being enabled:
We recommend the PRO interface, though each provider can utilize their own preference, for each page options.
Training --- How can I get more familiar with the EMR?
Now that you’ve logged in, you may be interested in locating some Training materials to get more familiar with the OSCAR PRO EMR.
We have several helpful videos and articles located in our Help Portal for self guided training. This Help Portal can be accessed from your main schedule page, in the top right corner:
If you prefer to read articles, or have an article open while watching a video, you can pick and choose how you prefer to review these materials available for you.
We also provide remote training for yourself, or for your group. The training sessions can be recorded and shared with you for future reference as well! Ask your PM (Project Manager) for more information, or you may contact us at help@oscarprodesk.ca with the subject: Training Request.
Please note there is a fee of $150.00 + HST/ hour for the remote training.
Apps --- What can be integrated into my OSCAR PRO EMR?
If you’re interested in learning additional information on different applications that you can have added onto your EMR check out the APPS link.
The APPS link is also located in the top right corner of the schedule page.
Please note that some applications have a fee attached to them, while others may be free of charge. These applications vary in services, such as online booking, appointment reminders, secure patient messaging, eReferrals, dictation, etc…
Please ask your PM (Project Manager) for more details, there might be an application that can aid in your clinic’s workflow.
Support --- How do I contact support?
You can reach out to support via email at help@oscarprodesk.ca , or you can call our support line at 1-866-935-5367. We have support agents available in both Ontario and British Columbia to provide support for you, ensuring that you receive prompt assistance.
We do ask that you send a new email for new inquires, this ensures that extra inquires are not missed from the original one submitted.
Ontario Support Team is available Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5 pm EST / 5 am to 2 pm PST
BC Support Team is available Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm PST / 11 am to 8 pm EST
If you have contacted support and need to share your screen with a support agent, we would ask that you download Teamviewer and have your ID and Password ready to connect.
Teamviewer will generate a one-time ID and password. The support agent would need the ID first to make initial connection, and the password to fully connect.
This can also be located from your main schedule page in the top right corner:
Once the EXE file has been fully downloaded, you can open and provide the required information to the support agent.
When emailing support, we ask to not provide patient health information in the email. Examples are helpful, we ask that you provide the patient unique demographic number of their chart instead. This number can be located from their Master Record (M) near the top left corner, beside the Edit link:
It can also be located on a patient search, it would be the number in blue on the left:
We are here to support you on your OSCAR journey.
