Here we will review how to log a prevention within the patient eChart.
Here is a link to a video: Logging Preventions
The Preventions module contains Preventions, Immunizations, as well as Screenings for the patient.
Preventions can be entered from the patient eChart in the top left corner, by clicking on the + beside the module:
Once the Preventions module is opened, at the top will be listed some age and sex related Preventions that may be overdue for the patient:
The items listed in RED would be overdue for the patient, or suggestions of items to be completed.
The items listed in BLACK would be ones that have been completed recently.
In the center would be listed all completed Preventions:
There is also a colour legend to showcase the different status of the prevention - such as Completed/Normal, or Abnormal. From a glance you can see the patient condition for each Prevention.
Along the left hand side will be a full list of Preventions available to be used for any patient:
Please note, this list can be managed at clinic level by going to Administration > System Management > Prevention List Manager. Here you can enabled/disable the items listed within the patient eChart. Changes made under the Administration panel will affect all providers on the EMR.
To enter in a new Prevention, you would need to click directly on the Blue hyperlink of the Prevention you wish to log:
This will give you a new window based on the Prevention you selected, to enter in the corresponding details. In this example, we're entering in a FOBT:
The first box allows for entry of Prevention and the provider that completed the Prevention.
Next, we can enter in a Result status - in cases of Screenings you can set to Pending until the result is received, then it can be updated accordingly.
A comment can be entered, this is visible from the Preventions window if you hover over the box entered.
Lastly, you can Set Next Date for a future appointment. The results of this can be loaded using a Report By Template, please contact Support for assistance.
The Prevention window will appear different if entering in a vaccination/ immunization:
These windows will ask additional information, such as - Route, DIN, Dose, Dose Unit, Manufacture and Expiry Date.
Prevention results can also be entered from the Inbox, while reviewing the recently received test.
The PREVENT button will load the Preventions module automatically. Alternately you could access it from the eChart button and then opening Preventions from the eChart window.
Please note, Preventions can be printed from this module, the option can be located in the bottom left corner:
Preventions can then be selected to be printed to a PDF document.
