We will review how to fax eChart notes using the printer dialogue button, as well as the Attachment Manager.
Printer Dialogue:
- Access the Chart Note: Locate and open the eChart of the specific patient whom you want to fax notes for.

Select Notes (Option 1):
- click on the Printer icon of each chart note you wish to include in your fax.
- note the green indicator of selected notes.
- click the Printer Icon at the bottom of the eChart center panel
- choose Selected -> Notes.

Date Range of Notes (Option 2):
- choose Dates
- use the date pickers to set the date range

All Notes (Option 3):
- click the Printer Icon at the bottom of the eChart center panel
- choose All -> Notes.

Choose Fax Option: select "Fax" from this menu.

Enter Fax Details:
- select the recipient from the Referral Doctor List dropdown
- or Enter the Fax number in the second box
- you can repeat the process to add additional fax numbers
- click Add for each recipient
- the fax number(s) added to the fax transmission display at the bottom of the window.

Send the Fax: click Send to action the fax transmission.

Confirmation Message:
- a popup message lets you know it has been queued for faxing
- the chart note will be faxed out, and the script runs every 5 minutes.
- click "OK" to close the window.
Attachment Manager:
- The icon can be selected from the patient's eChart to load all contents to be faxed, including Encounter Notes
- We can scroll to the Encounter Notes section and place a check mark beside the header to select ALL notes:
- This will showcase a total number of all selected and then the Fax button can be selected along the top to fax
- Alternately, if only faxing certain notes, checkmarks can be placed manually beside the notes required to be faxed:
- The fax button can then be clicked to complete the fax of selected Encounter Notes.
- Lastly, if faxing by a date range, the dates are listed along the right side and a checkmark can be placed beside those in the date range required to be faxed:
- In our example, we selected 12 items all contained in the month of January.
- Once all items are selected, we can then click Fax to load new window:
- From here, a Fax Cover page can be included with the toggle on the right:
- A Subject and Message can be entered.
- Please note, the clinic details are included automatically in the Cover Page.
- A fax number can be entered by searching the Consultations List by typing in their last name:
- Once confirmed the fax number will load on the right side.
- If the fax number is not included in the Consultations List, it can be manually entered and click the + to move it to the right side:
- Once all fax number(s) are loaded, the Send Fax can be used to complete the action.
