Moving Appointments Copy/ Cut/ Move/ Paste:
Here we will be going over the Copy/Cut/Paste feature available to easily move appointments.
To get more familiar with this feature in action, you can check out this short video: Copy/Cut/Move/ Paste Appointments
First, an appointment would need to be created to be moved, here is a video link on booking: Booking Appointments
Copy:
This allows you to be able to copy the details of the appointment to create a new appointment. For instance, if the patient has finished their first appointment and now you need to book their follow up appointment. The steps for Edit An Appointment would be used, so we would click on the patient name to open the Edit An Appointment window:
Once copied, the appointment window will close automatically. You would then need to navigate to the next date on the schedule to book - using the Calendar button, or maybe just the Week view. Once date is loaded, you can click time slot and Paste:
The details of the follow up appointment can be altered before clicking Add Appointment, such as the Reason. We have now booked Samantha's follow up appointment with Beth for August 27th, 2025.
Cut:
This allows you to remove an appointment from a current spot on the schedule and paste it into a different spot. For instance, if a patient is running late for an appointment and you need to shift the appointment to a later time. Similar to Copy, we will click on the patient name to open the Edit An Appointment window, and click Cut:
We then can navigate to a different time slot to Paste, same as above.
Move:
This allows you to move the original appointment and maintain all the original appointment details, such as the Creator:
We can note that the Creator of the appointment is Beth Benn, after we Move and Paste the appointment, those details will be maintained:
In this example, the patient was only moved to later in the day for the same provider, but we can see that the Creation Date and Creator of the appointment were kept .
