An Appointment Type allows you to create an appointment template that can be used to pre-fill many of the sections on the Appointment window. These Appointment Types can then be used for any patient while booking.
The Appointment Type menu can be located on the Make An Appointment window:
The Appointment Type can populate the following fields:
- Duration
- Reason (drop down and text box)
- Location (multi sites)
- Notes
- Resources
- Appointment Status
By setting up Appointment Types, the time spent creating appointments can be reduced and promotes consistency.
To create an Appointment Type, you would need to navigate to Administration > Schedule Management > Appointment Type List:
Here you can enter in the text fields for the new Appointment Type.
The Enabled box needs to be checked, and hit Save to update and save your changes.
Please note that Appointment Types can also be configured per provider, by selecting a provider from the drop down:
When a specific provider is selected, the Appointment Type will only be visible when booking an appointment under that provider.
Once saved, it would be available in the Appointment Type menu while making a new appointment:
After clicking on a time slot, we can then search for our patient to book. Here is a link to a video: Appointment Booking
Once the Appointment Type is selected, it will load with the information contained in the Appointment Type, as seen above. Including if you have set a specific status.
The appointment could then be added to the schedule:
You may also want to see the Appointment types on your schedule. This will impact the layout of your schedule to 3 lines.
Go To Administration > Schedule Management > Display Settings >
Display Appointment Type on Schedules: YES > Save
Please note, an Appointment Type can be edited, or deleted from the same location. Administration > Schedule Management > Appointment Type List:
