Here we will be reviewing basic navigation to become more familiar with the schedule view of the OSCAR EMR.
Here is a link to a video going over similar functions: Basic Navigation of Schedule
First, we will take note of the greeting in the center of the schedule screen:
This will show your provider name after you've logged into OSCAR.
Next, the name listed below is the name of the provider's schedule you're viewing:
In this case, I am logged in as myself and have my schedule loaded below.
For a MOA, or any administrative staff, you will need to load a schedule of the provider that you're booking and managing. This is done with the Group drop down in the top right corner:
Now, I am still logged in as myself, but I have Beth Benn's schedule loaded below to book under.
There is also options of loading a Group Schedule to showcase multiple columns of providers, here is a link to a video regarding groups: Group Schedules
Now, moving to the far left corner, we will review the navigation buttons available.
First, the date will show in the top left corner with black arrows that will aid in moving forward one day at a time, or moving backward one day at a time:
There is a Calendar option, this allows you to navigate further in advance using the red arrows, you may select a month, and once you've selected a date it will load that date on the schedule:
The double red arrows more a year at a time, and the single red arrows move a month at a time.
There is a Today button to always load the current schedule:
Next, the Month button will show the current month, the previous month and the next month:
If you select a date, the schedule will load for that date. Alternately, you can click Schedule in the top left corner to bring you back to the schedule view.
Next, we will review the 3 buttons to the left of the provider's name on the schedule:
The W will load a week view of the schedule. This allows you to view the week in advance, the black arrows again allow you to move weeks forward instead of days. This view can only be done by a single provider instead of a group.
From the week view, you can click on a date to zoom in on that date. Regardless, the Today will bring you back to current schedule.
The DS will load a Daysheet of the booked appointments on that date for that provider:
Lastly, the S will load a window to be able to Search For Next Available Appointment. This allows you to enter in search parameters, and then select a date to book. This requires a schedule template to be assigned to the provider, so the system can search accurately for next open time slot on the schedule. Here is a link to a video on Schedule Templates: Schedule Template
When searching for next appointment, you can enter in a specific date and a time frame. The search can be done by an appointment type, or any for all available appointments. By clicking on a generated time slot, the Make An Appointment window will load to book.
