ICBC has Standard or Extended forms that need to be submitted for every individual injured in an MVA, these forms serve as the documentation as well as the invoicing. These forms can be submitted via fax or mail. It is also good practice to create a private invoice in order to track and receive the payments.
You can create the private fee codes and add them to your private billing form.
In order to submit for the form fees associated, patients must provide consent for disclosure of personal health information to a third party, this can be verbal or in writing.
If you have not received patient consent, it is encouraged to bill a standard office visit in relation to an ICBC claim.
As of February 1, 2026 ICBC will no longer accept responsibility for medically necessary physician services relating to motor vehicle accidents (MVAs). These services will now be billable to MSP in the same manner as any other claim and will now be eligible for Business Cost Premium and Rural Retention Premium, where applicable.
In summary, you would create the invoice as Fee For Service and leave the Billing Type as MSP.
