Add Attachments to eForms or Smart Encounter Form

The Attachment Widget allows users to select relevant items from the eChart and attach them to eForms or the Smart Encounter Form.

This allows providers to include encounter notes, lab results, documents, or other relevant medical data when sending out requisitions, or writing medical letters.

Add Attachments to eForms

The Attachment Widget has been designed to be included in every eForm available in the system by default.

It can be disabled per individual eForm. See "Disable Attachment Widget in an eForm" for more information.

• Open a new eForm
• Locate the Attachment Widget closer to the bottom of the eForm
• Click Add Attachments
  
  
  
  
• Use the Attachment Manager to select desired items to attach
• Click Save
  
  
  
  
• The Selected Attachments now appear in the Attachment Widget
  
  
  
  
• Add or remove attachments as needed
  
  For example, click Edit Attachments to return to the Attachment Manager selector or Deselect All to remove all attachments
  
  
• Submit or action the eForm as desired

Result: the selected attachments are now included at the end of the eForm when printed or faxed.

Disable Attachment Widget in an eForm

The Attachment Widget has been designed to be included in every eForm available in the system by default.

If you wish to disable the Attachment Widget for a specific eForm, follow the steps below. Note that this option effects all users in the system.

• Navigate to Administration > Forms/eForms > Manage eForms
• Click the pencil to edit a desired eForm
  
  
  
  
  
  
• Uncheck "Enable Attachments"
  
  
  
  
• Click Save
  
  Result: the associated eForm will not longer load the Attachment Widget

Add Attachments to Smart Encounter

The Attachment Widget is available to use at the bottom of the Smart Encounter Form. This allows providers to attach clinical data to letters. 

• Open new Smart Encounter Form
• Locate the Attachment Widget closer to the bottom of the page
• Click Add Attachments
  
  
  
  
• Use the Attachment Manager to select desired items to attach
• Click Save
  
  
  
  
• The Selected Attachments now appear in the Attachment Widget
  
  
  
  
• Add or remove attachments as needed
  
  For example, click Edit Attachments to return to the Attachment Manager selector or Deselect All to remove all attachments
  
  
• Submit or action the eForm as desired
