0:00 Hi there. In today's video, we are going to be going over how to edit an encounter note. In order to edit an encounter note, we do want to open up the patient's clinical chart.
0:11 So that can be done by using the E shortcut wherever you encounter that, such as from a scheduled appointment or also from the patient search.
0:19 I'm just going to click on the E in order to open up the chart. Now, every encounter note that has been entered there is going to be an edit option in the top right corner.
0:29 By clicking on the edit, that will open up the note in order for you to make any adjustments. Now, while you are in the edit mode, you'll notice that the save icon has been removed.
0:39 You only have an option in order to sign off a note when you are completing an edit. So you do need to sign when saving, and that can be used by any of the edit options. Now, when you are completing an edit within your encounter note, you can utilize the templates again.
0:56 So you can search in order to populate that or just a freehand type in order to make adjustments. Once you are done with your note, you do want to utilize again one of your sign options, either the sign and save, the verify and sign, or the sign and bill in order to close off your edit.
1:15 Now, by going back into the chart, you'll notice that any note that have been edited will have an increased revision.
1:24 The revision will be notified within the bottom right corner of any of your notes. We'll see that that one has a revision of two.
1:31 If we scroll up, we'll notice that the other ones have just a one beside it. By clicking on the revision link.
1:37 That'll open up a new window for you, and show off any of the previous notes that have been entered. The last signed note is going to be what is visible within your chart.
1:51 When you are completing an edit, should you wish to remove any previous signs, You are able to remove that, leaving your last finished product without any of those additional mentions.
2:07 Now again, when we go back in, we will know- notice that it doesn't have any additional signs. It just has the last one that has been entered.
2:15 The revision has increased to three. When we go into that again, we can see the previous notes that have been made.
2:24 That would be concluding today's video on how to edit and encounter note. You can check out our help portal for additional videos and articles. Thanks.
