In this training video, I walk you through how to effectively utilize document types within a patient's e-chart. I demonstrate how to filter documents by type, such as x-rays and consults, to streamline your workflow. Additionally, I show you how to enable the display of these filters in the admin settings. Please make sure to follow the steps I outlined to enhance your e-chart experience.
0:00 Hi there. In today's training video, we're going to be going over how to utilize document types within your
patient's e-chart.
0:09 So I'm just going to click on the E here to load one of the e-charts. Now when you are within the patient's
clinical chart and you wish to filter and view your documents by document type, currently they are just listed as
documents generally in chronological order of what one that is that they were uploaded
0:26 . You have the black arrow that you can expand in order to view more documents. By clicking on the document
header of that module, it'll open up the documents window.
0:35 From here, you have a view filter that you're able to filter by those document types. So if I wanted to see my
x-rays, I can select that and that'll filter for me, or for instance, my consults.
0:47 And it'll filter for me again. And again, we can go back to all. So this filter by document types can be handy.
0:55 You do have a admin setting in order to have that filter displayed from the actual clinical chart from this page.
1:02 So I'm just going to close that off and I'm going to go under our admin panel by clicking on administration.
1:07 And along the top, then I'm going to go into e-chart on the left and e-chart settings. I'm going to enable group
documents by document type by clicking off yes and scrolling down and clicking our save and exit our admin panel.
1:26 Now when we go back into our clinical chart, we're going to have those document types displayed from the
e-chart itself.
1:33 So you can see now underneath documents that we can see that we have an ultrasound or x-ray and if I expand
that, we can again see our consult insurance lab pathology and radiology.
1:46 This makes it a little bit easier in order to view and see your documents from within the patient's clinical chart.
1:54 That would be concluding today's video. You can check out our help portal for additional videos and articles.
Thanks.
