New HPV Prevention Entry
Starting March 3rd, 2025, a new prevention item is available on all systems called "HPV Test" under the Screenings category,
The prevention follows the standard "Screening" layout available in OSCAR Pro
New Cervical Screening Ontario Prevention Report
Starting with the Pro 1.16 release, a new prevention report is available on all systems called "Cervical Screening". This report utilizes data in the system when you use either the HPV Test or PAP Prevention for your patients.
The new "Cervical Screening" option is introduced in the Ontario Prevention Report to facialiate the new HPV/Pap Guidelines. (Access this by clicking Report at the top of your OSCAR Pro schedule, then 'Ontario Prevention Report')
Patients due for cervical screening will first receive the HPV test and only follow up with the automatic PAP test if the HPV is positive. The logic for the report will be as follows (once you've selected your patient set):
-
-
If no PAP and no HPV test then show ‘no info’.
-
If has PAP in past 3 years and no HPV, show ‘due’ for HPV at 3 years since last pap.
-
If has PAP in last 3 years and no HPV, show ‘coming due’ withing 6 months of the 3 year point.
-
If has PAP in last 3 years and no HPV, show ‘over due’ after the 3 year mark since last pap.
-
If has HPV, show ‘due’ at the 5 year point.
-
If has HPV, show ‘coming due’ withing 6 months of the 5 year point.
-
If has HPV, show ‘over due’ after the 5 year point.
-
Please ensure the new age guidelines are updated for PAP/HPV recall. Ages 25 - 70 will be included in the recall.
-
Other logic will not change. Eg. When ‘Set Next Date’ is set or when ‘Ineligible’ is set.
-
If ‘immunocompromised’ logic already exists in the PAP test, include it in the HPV.
-
New HPV eForms Available for Use
The following two eForms are made available on all systems automatically on March 3rd, 2025.
If these eForms are not available in your system on this date, please contact support for assistance: help@oscarprodesk.ca
- ON HPV-Cytology for Cervical Screening
-
Instructions - How to Complete
- ON HPV-Cytology For Colposcopy Follow up
- Instructions - How to Complete
The eForms have been programmed to automatically pre-populate information based on patient and provider data found in the EMR.
The eForms have been programmed to display the 'how to complete' instruction form provided by Ontario Health as part of the digital eForm, but omit it from being included when using Print or PDF to generate a print.
This helps provide clinicians guidance at the point of data entry, but results in a single page printout for patients.
Accessing the eForms on a Patient
- Navigate to eChart of desired patient
- Click + beside eForms
- Select desired eForm
Manually Uploading the eForms
For those who want early access to test the eForms, they are available for download below.
Please use these for testing purposes only until then!
- ON HPV-Cytology For Cervical Screening - MANUAL UPLOAD
- ON HPV-Cytology For Colposcopy Follow up - MANUAL UPLOAD
These eForms contain "MANUAL UPLOAD" in the name to distinguish them from eForms that will be automatically added to each system.
The following article provides guidance on how to upload eForms manually:
Tips for Faster eForm Access
Some systems have a large number of eForms. Use the tips below to quickly find the eForm you need!
Finding eForms with Web Text Search
Since OSCAR Pro is a web based application, we can use the text search functionality to find desired text on a page:
- In Windows, use the CTRL + F shortcut and to search and highlight desired text
- In macOS, use CMD + F keyboard shortcut to search and highlight desired text
In the example below, using CTRL + F and searching for "Cytology" automatically highlights entries with that name:
Using eForm Groups
eForm Groups allow users to group eForms into custom categories to improve access to desired eForms.
eForms groups are shared between all users and are accessed in the eForm page side panel:
For more information on how to set up and use eForm Groups, review the video below:
Setting eForm Favourites Preference + Hover Over eForm Access
Users can set a "Favourite eForm Group" in Preferences. This ensures the selected group loads immediately in the eForm window, reducing the need to search through all eForms.
Setting up a Favourite eForm Group:
- Navigate to Preferences on the Schedule
- Click "Set Favourite eForm Group"
- Set desired favourite group using the drop down
- Click Save
If "Display eForm Favourite List upon + Hover in eChart" is enabled in Preferences, hovering over the + in the eChart will instantly show a list of Favourite eForms, eliminating the need to click to view them.
