In this video, I walk you through the steps to complete an RMB billing for out-of-province services, specifically from Ontario. I highlight the importance of ensuring that the patient's master record contains the correct health card information, including the health insurance number and card type. 0:00 Hi there. In today's video, we're going to be going over how to complete an RMB billing, so out-of-province
billing, from Ontario.
0:12 The MOH will process billings from other provinces, minus Quebec. In order to bill for those provinces, for the
services that the Ministry will cover, you would have to ensure that the patient's master record has the appropriate
health card information.
0:28 So I'm going to click on the M. You would have to enter in the appropriate health insurance number under their
health insurance section and under health card type would have to be the appropriate province.
0:44 Those are your requirements there. So if we went to bill for Samantha, I'm just going to click on the B and that's
going to load for us.
0:54 It's still going to show for us a bill OHIP. We're able to create our invoice and save and close. If I go back into
that master record now and I open up that billing history, we'll see our latest invoice and I click on edit.
1:15 You'll see that it has been saved. It has the health card type as British Columbia and the. Pay program has been
set to reciprocal medical billing automatically for you.
1:27 So in order to bill for out of province, you just need to make sure that you have the appropriate health
insurance information within the patient's master record and you would create your invoice for OHIP as normal.
1:39 Please note that you cannot validate out of province cards, so you will have to review the health card
information on the card itself to ensure that you receive your payments for that service rendered.
