OSCAR Pro Inbox General Introduction:
OSCAR Pro Inbox Items Introduction:
List View
The Inbox view provides numerous improvements to make it easier for clinicians and administrative users to locate, interact with, and view items. Optimizations include:
- Alternating colour rows (between White and Gray) to help distinguish items
- Inbox list fits more items compared to before
- Adoption of icons to indicate Lab priority (Stat, Time Critical, etc.)
- Increased visibility and emphasis of Abnormal items
- Forward Selected and File Selected buttons are moved closer to the checkbox selections to reduce mouse movement
- Unread documents are highlighted with bold styling to indicate user has not viewed them yet
Sticky Header
The improved Pro Inbox includes a 'sticky header' where important buttons used to interact with items are at the top. Always in the same place!
This design runs across all Inbox items (Documents, Labs, and HRM's) providing a consistent user experience.
The sticky header includes some additional functions:
- Ability to go back and forth between Inbox items (using the Back and Next buttons):
- A new "Acknowledge and Next" function is now available. When clicked, the existing item is acknowledged, and the next item in Inbox is loaded automatically.
This allows users to acknowledge an item and move on to the next one without having to open another item in the Inbox list.
If enabled, a comment box will display before the next item loads.
- A new "Annotate" shortcut button is now available. Annotate can be used to insert comments associated with the Document or HRM. It is integrated with the existing Annote features already available in OSCAR.
The comments are stored in the specific item and are pasted into the encounter note automatically.
- After opening an item from the Inbox, users can use the Escape key on keyboard or X icon to close the item pane
Comments
The new Comment window allows users to label the title of their Document, Lab, or HRM in the same section where comments are added. This allows users to keep clinical data organized easily for future reference without having to enter the items separately.
When a value is entered into the "Document Title of item" field or its HRM/Lab equivalents, the associated item title will display in the eChart
Category Type Selection
The previous Dropdown category type selection is replaced with standard pill button selections.
By default the Inbox shows All category types (Document, Lab, HRM). Users can click on a single category filter by type, or click on another category to see a combined view.
Double clicking a specific category (eg. Labs) will select only that category.
Typeahead for Provider Field
The "Inbox" field used to identify and select inboxes of various provides is now a typeahead field. This allows users to easily search for and select desired providers by typing their name.
Typeahead for Title and Type
The Type field is now a typeahead field. This allows users to easily search for and select desired categories by typing desired values.
Selection can be done by using keyboard arrow keys and Enter.
Clinics can enable the Title Typeahead option via the following setting:
Administration > System Management > Document Settings > Autocomplete Document Description
Link MRP
The updated inbox saves data in real time without the need to click a button. By default, the "Link MRP" toggle is enabled indicating that if the patient has an MRP assigned in Master Record, they will automatically be assigned to the document.
Users can toggle Link MRP off if desired, when a patient is assigned to a document the MRP will not be automatically assigned
Provider Status View on Document/HRM
The assigned providers, status of document, comment display are combined into a single view. Each row displays an icon with the number of comments. Clicking the row reveals the comments.
Users can toggle "Expand All" to view all comments by default. The selection is kept until disabled by user (no need to select it for each item).
If the provider is the MRP in Master Record, an MRP icon is displayed. Removing the MRP prompts a message to the user to confirm removal:
