By default the OSCAR Classic login mechanism will lock a user from being able to login after they failed to login successfully after a certain number of attempts.
When this happens, the user will be greeted with a page advising they have been locked out:
By default, each OSCAR is set up to lock after 3 unsuccessful attempts. The lockout occurs based on the IP address (as opposed to the username) and may prevent other users from logging in from the same address.
The lock lasts for 15 minutes but can be manually removed.
Any admin user can unlock the associated IP address within OSCAR so that the user(s) can try logging in again.
NOTE: Some systems may have different configurations in relation to their number of attempts before lock, lock duration etc. please do not hesitate to contact support if further assistance is required.

Unlocking a User/IP Address in Pro Auth
- Login to OSCAR as an Admin user
- Navigate to Administration > User Management > Pro Auth Settings > Unlock User
- From drop down Select user, you will be prompted to okay unlocking.
Unlocking a User/IP Address in Classic Log-in
- Login to OSCAR as an Admin user
- Navigate to Administration > User Management > Unlock Account
- Select desired IP address from the dropdown. Note that if the dropdown is empty, it means there are no active locks at this time.
- Click Unlock to remove the lock associated with the selected address
- Ask the user to try login again.
NOTE: additional unsuccessful login attempts may lock the user right away. Please unlock user as needed OR try Resetting Their Password instead.
