OSCAR Pro users can gain access to the Ontario’s Digital Health Drug Repository (DHDR) directly from within OSCAR.
The following article provides an in depth guide to using DHDR in OSCAR.
In order to take advantage of this set of features, the clinic and associated clinicians must be onboarded with OntarioMD first.

1.0 Overview
OSCAR can now access patient medication information from Ontario’s Digital Health Drug Repository (DHDR) directly from within OSCAR. Once enabled clinicians have the ability securely view their patient’s medication history, information about publicly funded drugs, pharmacy services, COVID vaccine status and all monitored drugs.
This integration is made available in partnership with OntarioMD and Ontario Health.
2.0 Getting Started
2.1 System Prerequisites
To access Digital Health Drug Repository (DHDR) EHR Service, users must have a valid ONE ID account with the proper permissions in place. If you do not have the proper credentials, contact the OSCAR Pro Support Desk at help@oscarprodesk.ca or 866-935-5367.
2.2 UAO Mapping
The UAO (Under Authority of) is selected during initial mapping of OneID to your OSCAR provider account in preferences. Log into OSCAR and select the Preferences tab at the top of your scheduler. Scroll down to ONE ID and click on UAO, then select the clinic you’re currently working at.
3.0 How to Launch DHDR Search
DHDR can be accessed from OSCAR Pro and Classic view options. Using your preferred OSCAR view and navigate to the Rx module of the patient chart you’re currently viewing and click the DHDR button.

*If you have not previously logged into ONE ID, you will be asked to do so now. Once OneID is authenticated the session lasts for 55 minutes and will automatically log you out if you’re not active. When active, it is renewed every time the schedule is refreshed.
4.0 Search Parameters
4.1 Default Search
The DHDR Search Window will open as shown below. By default, the date range populates the last 120 days. Note: If the patient’s name, PHN or DOB in OSCAR and OntarioMD records do not match, the search results are returned flagged as unmatched.
4.2 Custom Search
You can set a custom date range by using the datepicker icons to select a Start Date and End Date, then click Search.
4.3 Search All
Search the patient’s full history by selecting Search All.
*You can close the BLUE warning box (Limited to Drug…) using the X in the top right corner of the field.
5.0 DHDR Viewing Options
When viewing information within DHDR, users have the following Options:
1. Summary View: General overview of a patient’s DHDR record.
2. Comparative View: View of the patient’s DHDR record alongside your EMR data.
You can toggle between the two views by clicking on either Summary or Comparative within the DHDR. Note the current view is highlighted in blue.
5.1 Summary View Overview
The summary view provides a general overview of all medications/vaccines dispensed for a particular patient. A few things to note on the Summary View are:
1. Summary is highlighted in blue.
2. Drugs and services are listed in descending date order.
3. The Print button allows you to print summary sections.
4. Rx and service count column displays the number of dispensed drugs or events that have the same Name, Strength, and Form. Click on a number in the column to expand the view.
5. Filter- Click filter to display filter options, type in one or more of the criteria fields and click Search to display the filtered results. e.g., generic name, brand name, dispensed date etc.
6. Drug Detail View - click on a drug name hyperlink from the list to access the detailed view of a dispensed drug event. A new window will open with the details where you can print the detail page.
7. Sort - Click on any blue column header to sort the list order.
5.2 Comparative View Overview
Comparative is highlighted in blue. The Comparative View holds dispensed drugs received from DHDR and drug prescriptions recorded in OSCAR side by side for quick comparison.
Scroll to the bottom to review DHDR Pharmacy Service. The view functionalities such as print, filter, and sort etc, are as described above in the summary view.
6.0 Patient Consent
In certain situations where a patient has withdrawn their consent for healthcare providers to access their medication information through a consent directive, you’ll see a notice on the page with options to unblock, cancel or refuse.
6.1 Overriding Patient Consent (PCOI)
If the patient or a substitute decision-maker consents for you to access their records, you can temporarily override the consent directive by clicking on Temporary Consent Unblock.
6.2 Print Patient Consent (PCOI)
You must print and complete the “Temporary Unblocking of Access to Your Drug and Pharmacy Service Information” form.
If the patient’s SDM is providing consent, the type of relationship with the patient must be included on the form. The patient or SDM must authorize and sign the form. Keep the form securely on file for audit purposes.
